GP Embroidery was born out of both frustration and inspiration. When founder Terese Castile welcomed her oldest son, JW—who happens to have four initials—she ordered a personalized swaddle from a local shop. The result came back far from what she had envisioned, leaving her disappointed and determined to do better. Just three months later, she bought her first embroidery machine and began experimenting at home. What started as a mom’s solution for her own family quickly unraveled into something much bigger.
After a seven-year-long career in Washington, D.C. politics, Terese moved back to Michigan during COVID. While navigating life as a stay-at-home mom, she longed for something creative and fulfilling of her own. Embroidery became that outlet—a way to combine artistry, detail, and purpose. Over time, GP Embroidery grew from stitching for her children to building a business that now reaches families across the country.
